265G Project

Not much in the way if updates.

I purchased a neptune apex for the tank, ill be waiting a bit for it to arrive. I redid some plumbing I wasn't happy with. The fresh water test has been running for the better part of two months now.

Once the controller arrives we should see some good forward movement.

How deep was your 230 and what lighting were you running?

Better late then never right?

30" deep, and it was 3 400w moguls in a batwing reflector. Ghetto-rific compared to what is currentlt available, but it worked!

so where is this foward movement already ????

Not much to report these days.. I'm pretty busy in the summer.

My Apex arrived but I haven't had a chance to set it up..

As mentioned earlier, I did get my Apex ordered and delivered - With UPS as the transit company It's a wonder the thing showed up at all, but that's another story.

The Apex is a pretty cool unit, I'm just diving into the programing of this thing.. If I get the code right I might be able to get this thing to bring me a beer! I have two more EB8's on order, I'll have to wait for those to arrive before I can put the Apex to use.

Anyway, here's a pic, I know it's not a true update unless there's a picture! Sorry for being so blurry, I used my cell phone.

Small update,

Got my controller mounted up and plugged in. I toyed with having the EB8's on the front panel but I decided to put them behind to keep everything looking a little neater.

Darn!

You've inspired me to go clean up the appearance of my Apex installation. Right now it's a cluttered mess.

Are you not using the Apex Ethernet connection?

Looking good!

I'll be using the Ethernet connection once my wireless bridge shows up. I can stretch a cable across the floor until it arrives, but there's no real need, the tank isn't up and running yet.

I read your thread multiple times,( very nice build ) especially the parts that deal with your Apex experiences.

Here's a few pics of what the inside looks like.

The rest of the house is under renovation..In order to get this tank my wife got a new kitchen / bathroom / floors / you get the point.. But she's a good one, I'll keep her.

I used 90's mostly for added space. I wanted to keep everything as neat and compact as possible. That and I'm a little weird when it comes to symmetry, I wanted things to match..

Thanks for reminding me, I never posted the finished plumbing pics, and since I'm a picture whore.. I thought I'd post them now.

The piping running down for the closed loop intakes in below the cross braces of the stand so I can put a shelf in there later.

Well that's all for today... I'm not sure how many people are following along but I enjoy posting these for other people to look at.. I think reading about tank builds is my favorite thing to do around here.

Please excuse the mess of wires, I haven't got everything zip-tied up yet.

lol that's a nice trade with your wife; i think she in advantage over your; her renovation cost more than your tank lol... i think i'm going to make a deal with my wife too lol.....

wow everything looks great, i just can't believe your patience looks like you have been working on this for about a year and a half, man i couldn't do it
