well this is my new project and pics are to come progress will be fast and furiouse maybe a few days. i got the new k2 viper 150 watt. today and its really nice sleek design my 20k bulb wasnt in so im stuck with the 14k bulb for a week but i can deal with it. im going tommrow to pick up the 28 jbj nano cube with starphire (spelling) skimmer tommrow from pat. ill also be ading on a ato curtisy of tj aka tswifty. and dual phosban and carbon reaction chambers. im looking into geting a chiller and a controler to run and read all my implaments. not sure if i will run a sump with this. probly not. so all aditions will be completly custom to fit in the back chambers of the nano cube. tommrow im also stoping to get a gold banned maroon clown and 2 sea urchins. the tank will cunsist of 1 orange dimomd goby 1 maroon clown 1 bicolor blenny. 1 emerald crab 2 sea urchins. i plan on doing a almost 20% water change a week. but not sure seems like over kill probly end up doing 10%. im going with a crushed coral under sand bed with a 3 inch live sand bed from my exsisting tank to seed everything. ive learned alot about tank husbantry over the past 5 months and this tank i plan on being on everything like a hawk. updates and pics to come tommrow.

Sounds good, but seems you may be rushing a few things. Do you plan on holding the maroon in another tank? Seeing this one won't be cycled if you are just going to pick it up. Seeding with your existing sand/rock will help but still won't be instant. You'll have good lighting for sure, but a chiller may be a bit much for a 28gal (just seeing as they are so $$$). Water changes at 10% weekly will be fine, but if you do plan to overstock go with 20%.


BTW: STARPHIRE is one of the few words that are spelled correctly, but we all know what you're trying to get across. I'm no linguist myself =p

I can guarantee that skimmer and a dual reactor chamber won't fit in the back of the nano cube. If you plan on using everything you have listed, you will need a sump.

Besides, you won't want to have an ATO float valve in your display tank. ATOs are meant to be in sumps.

now that i think about it i will need to have a sump and the tank will have no cycle becouse everything i have in my 75 is going it to the 28. the CC substrate is dead nothing in it just CC. and btw anyone want the demsels and chromis i need them gone like tonight or tommrow ill give them away if need be just need them gone.

first time at wet pets today i love there store its great a little pricy but the fish are very very well maintaind. i got everything set up right now. i got the maron clown today its huge probly 4 1/2 '' i have the viper up and runing i have everything going just waiting for the tank to clear up to add coral and thats that. will post pics very very soon.

i also choped up the stock hood to get the leds and fans out. not sure what im going to do with them yet.
