Dear fellow members of the reef tank.

I have found this new aquarium by D&D and i wish to ask a few questions about it!

1. How many plugs does it have.
2. How do you replace the metal halide bulb
3. Is it easy to maintain
4. If you can replace the metal halide bulb which is the best bulb on the market that is 150W and will fit into this unit.

You know this is Reef Central.. not The Reef Tank?

I had not heard of this tank so I did a quick google and found the main website but I dont see any HQI versions of this tank only CF and Led. So I cannot speak to anything about a metal halide version.

Ethier way.. it probably has 3 plugs to the wall, 5 total (1- lamp, 1 -LED Moonlights, 1-wavemaker and then the 2 return pumps plug into the wavemaker)
plus any extras you add (heater, skimmer, etc)


It is likley similar to most nanos around that size for maintenance. Not difficult as long as you keep on top of maintenance.

If the bulb is burnt out then you can buy a new one from marine depot just take the bulb out and see what kind it is. It either screws in to the fixture or it has two flat ends and you gently push into the holders on either side. Phoenix bulbs are great but check out marine depot website lots of bulbs and info about them
