The tank will have a shallow sand bed of 1-2" and the return I am looking at its going to give about 1500-2000gph (Blue line 100HD). These returns will probably be along the back of the tank maybe 3/4" loc lines. The tank has two drains for a closed loop and would run through a OM 4way but I am looking at these PH before I say anything definite. I will run either a CL with the OM4way or these things. I want to keep some easy sps along the top and a bunch of lps softies around the rest...clams in the sand.

So what do yall think...two 6100 and that bigger controller? One on each side of the tank firing left and right? Would that cover my tank well...will that blow the sand around on the other end of the tank?

Thanks

Whoops I saw in another thread you said for me 2 6100's if not sps dominated, and it wont be, I do have some more questions. So if I put them in the middle on the sides will that blow the sand around on the other end of the tank? How far does it take for it to go 2' wide? Would this really be better than having 4 returns in each corner from the OM 4way. I know the tunze would be easier to hook up and take less power to run. If you use the magnet holders...can you adjust the PH up down left right...or is that only with the normal mounting hardware. How far from the water surface does it need to be?? I have never use either of these setups before as you can tell :D

I just wish they were smaller

You can raise and lower the magnet hodler and the pumps still swivel but maybe only 30 degrees each way. It will blow around a DSB but once it is settled and cultured it will not move much (after 2-3 months). I can't say if it will be better than something I have not used, i think it is less complicated, more versatile and cheaper in the long run. After about 3-4ft the flow is 2ft wide.

Thanks for the incite...I think I am going to wait till the tank comes in so I can look at it in person to decide...see how big these pumps would look in the tank.
