29 biocube light upgrade

I have been looking to upgrade my lighting in my biocube 29g. I have been interested in possibly keeping the stock hood if possible to keep any fish from jumping out.

Does anyone have experience with upgrading lighting on a 29 and what would you suggest? I am looking into maybe making my own LED fixture inside the hood but am open to all ideas and of course will share my journey on here for all to learn from!

29 biocube light upgrade

This is what I did with my biocube 14. Took the hood off. Went rimless then I got an AI Prime LED. No regrets. The light is amazing. Best decision I have ever made with my tank lighting. You can put some plexiglass or some mesh over the top so your fish don't jump out.

Similar i used the Ai Hydra 26 and cut a glass top. Made it square so the bow part is still open. ^^ Never regreted it.

Look at Steve's LEDs. Look at his retrofitted designs for biocubes. They are well thought out.
