Hi y'all,

It's high time that I let go of my old setup. I am going to start with my 29 gallon set up here.

Here's what I have:

Drilled 29 gallon tank with a modified Stockton standpipe with an oak stand, matching oak canopy.

20g long sump.

ViaAqua 2600 return pump

Excalibur in-sump skimmer (a very good skimmer by Knopp) rated for 90 gallon

All of the equipment was used only for one year. The whole setup cost me over $400, but I am willing to sell the entire thing for $200 or best offer.

The tank and the sump has a bag of Southdown in it. It's dry and need some rinsing, but the sand is in a very good condition.

The setup was used for only one year before I upgraded to 120.

All you need is a light fixture. Something like a Viper HQI light would be great for it.

If you like a DIY light fixture set up, I have a reflector, socket, and a ballast for a 55-65W PC lamp, and a DIY 70W metal halide lamp fixture with a just a few weeks old 70W Ushio 10K bulb. It's not enough for keeping SPS's but enough for most softies and LPS's. I would like to sell them for $100.

Here is what the setup looks like:

The tank and the sump without the oak stand and canopy. The tank and the sump are actually placed on a metal stand and the oak stand is placed over the metal stand as a wrap-around.

Tomoko...you trying to get me in trouble now...My hubby would freak if I added a third tank but it is a very nice set-up and I'd like to have it but don't think I could add enough sugar to his coffee to get him to agree to it

come on LovenBama, you know you are the BOSS :hammer:
It looks nice just concerned about the pipes being seen all the time.
We have a 29 not drilled, wished it were.

oops..I looked at the wrong tank...it does appear that the pipes are inside the tank...but hey, there's still an opp to hide it some what with polpys or zoas or xeina maybe worst case GSP even.. really making me think about this set-up now
Tomoko what is the inside deminsions of the canopy?

The pipes are on the outside of the tank. There is a Tee behind the bulkhead. The tee and a plug on top of it are the integral part of the small internal overflow box. There is a small valve on top of the plug control the water level and act as a silencer. It works amazingly well.

Here's a picture of it:

There is a 1" street elbow screwed into the threaded bulkhead in the rear of the tank. On top of it is a Tee with a plug on top and another 1" elbow on the other side. 1" vinyl hose is connected to this elbow and secured with a clamp. The vinyl hose goes into the 1st section of the sump.

If you put a black plastic sheet in the back of the tank, everything will be hidden well. The 1/2" PVC pipe that you see in the tank is simply a spray bar for the return. You can use the spray bar as is or you can replace it with a SCWD and two elbows. I think a SCWD gives you a much cleaner finish.
