I am on of those people with the kits from RapidLED. I bought the dimmable kit that I run with my Apex (via a VDM module).
I have been 100% satisfied with them. There were some kinks I had to work out (my whites were flashing for some reason, but I got it under control), but they've been working flawlessly for about 4 months. I have SPS and a clam (as well as softies and LPS that don't necessarily require higher intensity lighting) , and all have been growing great with the kit.
Basically, if you want to keep the biocube hood, the RapidLED kit is the only option (besides maybe putting together a kit of your own a la cart... but why reinvent the wheel?).
