2nd batch report

Well, the 2nd half of the package has been in the tank since last Wednesday, but I've been too busy to report till now. Every thing seems to be going OK with a few minor hurdles. Arranging the rock so that the life isn't crushed, damaged or hidden is an incredible challange (especially in a narrow tank... not my first choice, but it was free {do I hear rumblings of a bigger tank in the future???:D } ) I evicted a couple of mantis shrimp but I know from the crab and clam remnants and the happy click-click-click that I have a couple more that snuck in  ) I had a 1/2" pistol shrimp that snuck in, also. Amazing how loud the pop that thing could make for being that small. The sound was definitly different from the mantis clicks, though. I evicted a few gorilla crabs, also, though I've seen a number of tiny ones hiding in the rock.
I've been having a little cycle, though nothing too bad. Ammonia topped out on day 2 at .3ppm and has dropped to .1 ppm today. Nitrites have stayed at .3ppm, though I expect them to drop soon.
A few photos to share:

Some corals and algae (the camera "yellowed" the color a bit )

and a few other corals ( a bit of shipping damage that I hope will heal over)

Very nice, Jeff!

You've also highlighted the reason I don't quite like acrylic tanks as much: You need to be something of a contortionist to aquascape! But you did a great job! Don't strain your shoulder patting yourself on the back!

LOL. I hear that. There were two very large pieces and the rest were fist sized chunks. Trying to wrestle the big ones in without wiping out the tank or myself was a challenge. I seem to remember something about Advil that evening ;)

But you did a great job!

Thank you, Hy. I'm afraid I may mess it up going after the mantis. I will leave that till the tank has cycled, but I'm afraid the larger one (haven't seen it yet but it seems more active and has a more authoritive click sequence) will have to go based on what it has done already.
