Well, the 2nd half of the package has been in the tank since last Wednesday, but I've been too busy to report till now. Every thing seems to be going OK with a few minor hurdles. Arranging the rock so that the life isn't crushed, damaged or hidden is an incredible challange (especially in a narrow tank... not my first choice, but it was free {do I hear rumblings of a bigger tank in the future???
} ) I evicted a couple of mantis shrimp but I know from the crab and clam remnants and the happy click-click-click that I have a couple more that snuck in
) I had a 1/2" pistol shrimp that snuck in, also. Amazing how loud the pop that thing could make for being that small. The sound was definitly different from the mantis clicks, though. I evicted a few gorilla crabs, also, though I've seen a number of tiny ones hiding in the rock.
I've been having a little cycle, though nothing too bad. Ammonia topped out on day 2 at .3ppm and has dropped to .1 ppm today. Nitrites have stayed at .3ppm, though I expect them to drop soon.
A few photos to share:
Condy Anemone (thanks, Richard!!) and our 8" Arrow crab, Godzilla:
Some corals and algae (the camera "yellowed" the color a bit )
and a few other corals ( a bit of shipping damage that I hope will heal over)
