I am in awe! This is the greatest thing ever! I am a little late in getting to this but working and sitting in front of the tank, I just haven't had time. I am still trying to figure out what all of it is. I took me about 8 hrs to get everything in but we did it. I think it was 4:00am before I was able to go to bed that night. It will be a week thursday. My ammonia is pretty good .25. I have only had 1 spike this week. My problem is the gorilla crabs and a mantis shrimp. We went over all of the rock before putting it in the tank but the little critters managed to stay in the rock. The mantis I have seen is pretty good size, about an inch and a half long. I tried the bottle trap but that didn't work. He just stayed put until I took the bottle out. I hate to disrupt all the rock to get him, but I may have to. We were able to get about 20 gorilla crabs out before we stocked the tank. But I am now seeing a few left. I love the serpent stars, the coral, the sponges, the gorgonians, the hermit crabs, the anemones and so on and so on. I also found a few pistal shimp (babies). All the colors in the tank just bring everything to life. I know Richard outdid himself. I will tell everyone to order from TBS. If anyone has any new ideas how to rid my tank of the bad things, besides the bottle thing, I would be willing to listen. Thanks again Richard, I couldn't be happier!!!

If you do a search there a many threads here on methods to catch crabs and mantis shrimps. For mantis the easiest way is just to remove the rock and use the seltzer water in their hole method, and for crabs I use the tilted glass trick.

Mantis shrimp!

Mantis shrimp!

Yeah! I got him, the little bugger! I saw him yesterday in one of my smaller rocks, so I pulled it out and flushed him out. It was a pretty good sized one, about an inch and a half long. Everything is doing great. Ammonia 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 20. I am so happy with everything. Richard knows how to make people happy!. Wish I knew how to do the picture thing. I am so terrible at it. If someone could talk me though it, I would post some. Again thanks Richard!!!!;)
