3 Flame Angels in one tank

Hello all,

I am asking before I try this, but was wondering if I could keep 3 flame angels in a 300gallon FOWLR...there are no angels in there as of yet. If this can be done, I would add them all at the same time. I also plan on adding a lemon peel and pygmy, maybe a coral beauty...that would be my dwarf angels for the tank.

Looking for opinions, not getting flamed if this is a bad idea, please let me know and I won't do it.

I don't think you will get flamed. A friend of mine has four pygmy angels (different kinds) in his 200 without any problems. I don't know how three of the same kind will work out, but am interested to hear from others.

I have a coral and a 1/2 black in a 210g with no issues but like the above poster i have no idea how 3 of the same kind will work

I have 2 flame angels in my 180 gal. tank without any issues. They have been in my tank for about 2 months though.

After reading a thrd on flame angel harem by Jaken I added 3 FAs to a 75g in Nov 2006 and in Oct 2007 I introduced 6 FAs to the new 180g tank. I don't have enough long term results for you but after seeing them for the past year and a half they seem to be doing well. Personally I think you'll be fine as long as yu have enough rockwork for them. I've just added 2 colinis and 1 venustus last weekend and the big flames gives them a quick hello and moves on.

Yeah the key here will be introducing them at the same time and having alot of mature rock work for them to pick at.

thanks for the replies... i guess i will give it a try and add them all at the same time...

as far as rock work goes, I have about 400 to 450 lbs of it in that tank for 2 years now...they will have plenty to pick on
