3 Nanostreams....too much?

Ive currently have two nanostream 6025s in my 30gal long. Each of them puts out 660gph. Im thinking of adding just one more. Does anyone know if 1980gph is going to be too much flow?

The 6025 pumps out 770gph not 660gph, tested and confirmed by RC members.

Three of them will give you 2,310 gph. I don't know if 77 times turnover is too much, if you keep sps probably not.

A modded 6025 will give you 1,250 gph each BTW.

Really...the pamplet that comes with the pump states that it will put out 660gp. So you dont think that 3 will be too much then.

I have 2 modded 6025's in my 24 gallon if that helps. What is too much for you? Not sure what too much is defined as. What do you plan on keeping in your tank.

Im setting it up to be a reef tank. Im getting ready to add some corals to the mix now that I have a couple fish, shrimp, and cleaning crew.

I'd save the money and replace the seaclone.

If you would see what mine pumps out...youd probably wish you had saved your money. Besides ....who ever said money was an issue....

Just modify one of the pumps you already have and save yourself the money.

Id rather keep the factory warranty. Just in case.

Well honeslty you only need about 20-30x's turn over for most life in a reef tank which you've already met pretty well. So unless you plan to go SPS you're already set on flow. I think I have something like 116x's turn over and I'm having to give away my feather dusters because it's just too much flow for them. It's all relative to what specific life you plan to keep.

Just my opinion. I agree with you though - I wish my fiance' never bought the seaclone skimmer he did. ;)

The 6025 mods do not void warranty. You will get 2500 gph from your two nanos, that is 83 times turnover, be prepared to take out everything except sps.

Are you sure. I called Tunze and they said it did and the owner of a very reputiable LFS said it did too.

Of course if you send in a modded front cover they will not replace a new one for you:)

2 will be way too much. mod one and save yourself some money. i bought two 6025 for my 65 with my old 6060 and realize it was too much flow. ended up using just one mod with the 6060.

I like having more of a random flow with the two. Its roughly the same GPH, but I cover much more area with two than with just one. I think if I add the third and have it deflecting off something it would prob not be so bad.
