Since I got addicted to reef fish...I have built my stock to out grow their quarantine tank.
So I got a 55 gallon for them in case I need to evacuate their tank..with option of tamk dividers blah blah don't put a lunar wrasse with pajamas doopey doo...
Yeah! Anyhow. I have my 30 gallon and a yes 400 watt large and in charge metal halide.
it was used in a green house for something they wouldn't tell me...hmm....so I cleaned it and painted it. Im planning on doing some scallops or a big ol clam.
Right now here's how its setup
Precycled sponge on a power head, and hob filter with chemipure and a prefilter sponge.
(Both sponges have been sokaing in my main tank for months.)
New ssand about 2 inches deep.
A pvc castle with 10lbsa of LR (waiting to cure the rest)
A ball of chaeto morpha.
Fishless, I plan on cycling water from main tank to this tank, the water from this tank either put in hospital tank or dump....I have mollies in every tank right now so the filters don't go on strike.
Does sound like a good idea. Of course I always test my water before I move it around. I also uv zap it @ 100000 zapdose. Very slow but kills ich according to scientists.
