300 DT w/ 150 gallon Sump +

Yes egg crate is great stuff any time i use it for something structural i double it and it becomes very strong. To answer your question i drilled 4 small holes toward top of sock holder and used ties.
Thanks for stoppN by:)

As you will see i get side tracked alot with my build while i will be working on one thing i will have a thought.............next thing i know its two weeks later:)
I call them "MO FLOWS"
Here is what happened when i thought about my 12 needed outlets for my DT

:wildone:

OK back to the build!!!!

Thank You ..Yeah i am ready to start it up myself:) I have all i need to finish except materials for my foam wall and RO/DI unit. Doing everything myself with lots of details left i am looking at a month till fresh water fire up. I will then build foam wall while its running with fresh water.

Thanks ebond009:)

Today i will show my DT air injection:
I have air back up in case of power outage for my DT as well with sump and reactors. This is a little different and will be used along with an air pump and timer to inject air for one minute every hour. While micro bubbles comming from a poor designed sump is not a good thing i believe micro bubbles injected is:) First it is very important when injecting that you have a system with enough flow/movement to remove the bubbles fairly fast. With fast i mean within a few minutes and just as important you need to build up your time giveing fish and corals a chance to adjust to this feature.
Why would i want to do this?
Raises oxygen levels, binds with suspended particulate matter raising to surface to be removed via overflow/s, helps corals remove waste, better light penatration, helps remove stale water trapped under rocks in pockets.
It may help alittle with small pH swings but i don't know this one for sure:)
There are many way's air injection can be added i am adding it through my close loop system. But have built custom overflows for hobbiest that can be used also.
Some air supplys:

DT air injection through close loop:

I have loward the air stone so you could see it when running it would be behind the tee and be removed for cleaning or replacement.

Thanks for looking:)

If someone could tell/help me tone down picture size i would be thankful:) It just started making this size with this thread not sure why?

Thank You,

I think it is the method saved.

I do not see a setting to use a smaller image in photobucket .

<a href="http://s1187.photobucket.com/user/RipTide54/media/Closed-loop-corte_zps32904970.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z383/RipTide54/th_Closed-loop-corte_zps32904970.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Closed-loop-corte_zps32904970.jpg"></a>

That last one was using the thumbnail option.

Thank you 5406 i save things all the time to many cool things not too:)lol I for one do not like the new photobucket layout but will try the thumbnail option.

Thank you again for your help! Would you happen to know if there is a way to make already posted picks to the thumbnail choice. Would help thread move better since i have lots of pictures to post and would like them all to match?

Once you save them after X time it will not let you edit them. Sorry.

Solve for X where Y=time and effort.

This is one side of my close loop system using 2 Blowhole 2700 pumps that will feed 4 1" outlets. I have set it up so i can turn 1 pump off at night and still have flow comming out all 4 outlets. Along with flow still comming out the 4 outlets it will also back siphon/flow out the inlet of which ever pump is turned off.
Each pump has its own 2" feed with 1 1/2" spa flex:
I upsized pump inlet from 1 1/4" to 2" also pump outlet.

Hey Aquatron, glad you decided to start a thread of your awesome work. Looking forward to seeing all this pretty paint wet!

Thank you very much it has been alot of work and way to much thinking...lol it is getting exciting see it all come together. I have learn alot here looking at other builds and just but my twist on it:)

I am going to paint all of my different pluming lines different colors but ever thought of painting the individual fittings a different color...I AM STEALING THAT IDEA!!!!

Could you post a pic of what you do to tape up the inside of the fittings before painting them?

Hello Fuzzy,
I tape the threads at 1/2 way and put pieces of cut off pipes at ends of fitting to keep paint out. There is a earlier picture posted on this thread showing the painting of fitting just look at the different colors on the piece's of pipe....lol looks like a rainbow:)

Take any ideas you want and best of luck!

Here is some of my MO FLOWS in a members tank.......i really like the little yellow guy sitting in the rocks:) As you see from the different pics that his/her fav place!

Here is my combo pump stand, cryptic area, ATS use to hold my different reactor's pumps. I didn't want to use another manifold because i wanted to try different pumps and can take them off and on line with ease. I will use an air stone under screen that will be sitting a the runner under the screen. The lighting will come from both a window and par bulbs with goose necks.
Cut up different size's ready to sand off nubs.

Poor man way of sanding egg crate:).....works well
