300dd return w/ jebao pump question

I redid my plumping on 300dd w/ dual herbie drains. Im running a jebao dc12000 that I have had for a year now. Jebao is running one below max on the controller, if I max the speed out on the pump, the pump whine is to loud. Would like to increase flow for sump to dt.

Should I look for a new pump, must be silent, and internal. Maybe a large laguna pump. Or should I run a second dc12000 and another return line behind tank.

Anyone know if the new jebao dct pumps still have the pump whine. I have a reef octopus elite 220int skimmer and that dc pump you cant even tell if its running. Wish they made a bigger pump.

Fluval SP6 = Laguna motor with better bearings. Beast of a pump and much more real flow than the Jebao DC12000.

I have two Jeabo DC-12000. There is no difference in noise levels at any settings. They are all quiet.

Well, I have a new jebao dct12000 coming Friday and also ordered fluval sp6 coming Saturday. Sp6 looks like a beast compared to the dc12000.

Way too many issues with the DC pumps for my sanity. Ran two different Wavelline 2nd Gen pumps until I found the volutes were rusting due to the factory using inferior metal inside. The company replaced with new volutes, but the bad taste in my mouth had already set in. Faulty power packs, failing controllers, and over rated flow outputs, had made my decision easy. Picked up a Vertex V6 that puts out some serious power, silly quiet, and tested at 52w running power! Finally and underrated pump.

I have a SP4 powering a Life reef VS3-36 with a Mazzei 1078 injector and very happy with the results you don't hear the pump at all

I also agree with not trusting DC pumps, IMO DC motors have an advantage when it comes to sudden starts and stops which you have with circulation pumps

They make a DCT15000 now which might be something you are interested in. The DCT pumps are suppose to have more longevity and be more reliable because they reworked that wiring. With a tank that big I would run 2 at the same time at a lower power to create some redundancy. At a minimum I would have a backup ready to go.

UPDATE-
Friday received the dct12000 pump and swapped out dc12000, still had the whine at full speed, but both are a lot quieter when running at anything lower than max speed.

Saturday received SP6 swapped out dc12000. Sp6 is beast compared to the dc12000, 3x the size. Sp6 is silent cant even tell its on. Yes it cost 2x as much as the dc pump but no noise is worth the cost to me.

Saturday evening posted dc pumps forsale.
Already sold the dct pump and selling the dc12000 still.

So many people say the samething when replacing the Jebao DC pump with a Fluval Seas.
Have you noticed a flow difference as well?

Question re Fluval SP6 with 300 DD Wet/Dry ESHOPPS

Hi all,

Fairly new to Wet/Dry system. I recently purchased the above wet/dry system to use with a Fluval SP6. My tank seems to overflow, as the overflow box that came with the Wet/Dry unit seems unable to keep up with the pump. Has anyone else run into similar issues? How did you remedy? Pictures would be helpful. Many thanks

David

If your overflow can't keep up with the pump then the best solution (besides getting a smaller pump or better overflow) is to "T" off the return line after the pump outlet and bypass some of the water right back into the sump. Throw a valve on there so you can regulate the flow as best as possible.
