I'm building a wood stand for my 300G DD marineland tank, and wanted to ask any of you with the same tank what the exact outside dimensions are. Also, for those of you with wood stands, can you tell me whether you used a plywood sheet under the tank, and whether you had beams supporting the 36 inch span or merely relied on perimeter support.

I have two of their 250 DD's, so can't help you on the exact outside dimensions. I have the factory stands, so I do know that my tanks are perimeter supported, and they sit on top of a 3/4" sheet of plywood. The sides and frame are also composed of 3/4" plywood.

I'm amazed that the plywood can hold the weight
