Thanks man! looking forward to seeing your tank up and running

Thanks dvanacker!

Rickyrooz1: I feed the corals frozen cubes of coral food by H20 Life and cyclopese and rotifers. I'm not doing the pappone method.

I wish my growth was that fast. I just dont get why some people get such fast growth.

When I'm diving I see most of the more colorful corals at about 15-45 feet deep. The spectral output of the actinics is very much like the light spectrum found at 15-30 feet deep.

It looks like MakoJ is providing even more intensity of that light than the corals would see in the wild.

Thanks for the info!! That was one of my goals for this tank was to have
insane amount of actinics, I was called crazy by several people for doing it as well as having 4-400w'ers on top of it lol

I'm just getting going with SPS in the last couple months but more and more of what I read where objective measurements are evaluated is that actinic is very important, and their spectrum does match what I see on an ocean reef. But you know, so many people say MH with two actinics on the side... Your tank really confirms my hunch-12+ hours with lots of actinic and 4-6 hours with a whiter spectrum mixed in.

And thanks for sharing so much of your time to help the rest of us. I think your coral growth pic's are the most telling because some people start out with big corals and when they grow 20% in a year people think it's great. You have raised the expectations.

I was also wondering where you acquire such a wide variety of corals. Do you have some favorite online sellers you can tell us about?

Hey Mako, here is the original mother colony of the aquadelight. I took this pic around 8-9 years ago and gave a frag to Greg Hiller.

Thanks, I've got some really cool and rare coral when TexasTodd broke down his system. I hit the usual online sites like atlantis, reefermadness, extreme, fragfarmers, and lately austinaquafarms

When I lived in San Antonio there were some really nice stores back then that got in some really nice stuff
