I have an established fowlr with a few corals in it and I want to use it to seed a coral only reef tank. I am going to be taking out about 20-30lbs of rock from the 150g and some water and using that to seed the new 30g tank. I think that should allow me to start my tank instantly.
Tank specs are:
30g 36 inch long by 12 inch wide by 16 inch tall AGA tank
Filtration
Aquaclear 110 power filter with some GFO in it. My convert to fuge over time.
Skimmer Air stone driven MTC tm3000
LIghting 175 Watt Hamilton pendant with a Aqualine 13k bulb
Flow I am going to experiment using a wavebox at lowest power and See what happens if not I will use a seio powerhead
Heat-Titatinum heater with external dial.
Sand substrate
So that is it nothing more nothing less. I am following the KISS philosophy for this tank... KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID !!!!
I hope by minimizing the number of components I will garner greater success.I have spare uv sterilizer and ozone but wontr bother with all that. I want a tiny fish load and a lot of corals. I will be buying corals soon I will post my purchases and let you all know.
Any suggestions are welcome...I know The wavebox will be one we can discuss. It's an experiment, I know it wont work the way its supposed due to 3ft tank length, but I hope it will still give me random flowthat is better than what a seio can give me. I would like a controlable stream pump but dont wnat to buy something if I already have this.
