Thinking of culturing some pods...

AZBigJohn

Usually confused...
I'm debating culturing some pods, with the end goal of getting my tank well-seeded for the eventual (quite a while) addition of a mandarin... I started my tank from sterile rock, and it needs a big infusion of pods to seed. The tank is an 80-gallon low-boy, if that helps any.

Those that have done it, is it worth it? I've watched lots of videos on the process, just curious if a couple of you could post a pic of your smallish pods culturing set-ups.

I have grown phytoplankton but not pods. I suppose it would be like raising sea monkeys (brine shrimp). Can a mandarin be maintained on live brine shrimp?

There are people who have Mandarins eating pellet, and frozen, so I'm sure they can, but if I am going to get one I want to be sure of success, by having the tank seeded with its natural food source.
