Roger,
I have had a 3110/2 for about a year or so. Recently it stopped producing any skimmate and on checking there were no bubbles either. As it hadn't been cleaned I figured it was probably calcium build-up - on inspection there was quite a lot of build up on the impellor shaft. I soaked it overnight in a weak citric acid powder solution. This brough it up like new. On putting it back in tank the pump would not come on. I tried the pump on its own and it worked. I then put re-assembled the skimmer and this time the pump came on ok.
The problem now is that water is being pumped through the airline. I tried draining the skimmer, closing the air adjustment screw and turning back on - still water seeping through the air adjustment screw hole even fully closed. If I open the screw a few turns more water comes through. I drained the skimmer again and blew through the air hole - I could hear air being forced back down past the pump. Tried again, same result. I checked the manual and am fairly sure I have assembled it right.
What would you suggest?
Thanks,
Daniel
