3130 skimmer

I am purchasing a 3130 skimmer. Is there an optimal water level for it? My sump is a constant 12" deep, would this work? Also the man I am purchasing it from lives near you, can he bring in the pump for cleaning? If so how much would you charge. Thanks.

He can take it to AquaTek and I'll get it from them for service. Labor is $15 plus parts. The skimmer needs about 10.5" of water so it should work you just adjust the mounting clamps. It might be best to get the whole skimmer serviced as depending on age the venturi system can develop leaks and this is a difficult repair because the space to work in is so confined.

Hey Roger - This is Mike Harris. I'm the guy selling him the skimmer. I brought it in Monday and Nolan cleaned the pump up for us. The circular flat rubber/plastic piece at the end of the venturi that plugs in to the tube in the skimmer was loose. Nolan got it to fit, but it might not be a bad idea to replace it. Any ideas on what that'd cost? The rest of the skimmer/pump/venturi is clean as a whistle now and should work like a champ. You're not kidding about the space to work in being limited - I think Nolan and I both have some new nicks and scrapes. ;) Nolan did a great job, btw. :)

Yeah, the old silencer piece- it is a complete assembly from the intake down to the pump costs $9.20.

Take care Mike.

That will be between you and Mike. I just do the work and bill AquaTek for the part.

It'd be great if Aquatek could handle the transaction over the phone if possible, but if not you can just pay me through paypal. Aquatek's phone # is 512-450-0182. It looks like I won't be able to get over there until tomorrow, my car's in the shop today.
