Hopefully getting things in order soon for a new light for this baby! After the move I threw on a 48" T-8 Light that I borrowed from Planefanatic to get things kick started with it. It has started to diatom bloom, so shouldn't be too much longer before I am ready to get it looking fantastic inside I am guessing it will be stable in about 3-4 weeks. I decided to go with Indo-Pacific black and white sand, so hate on Mike, lol. Will update as soon as something else happens with the tank.
Do you still like your overflow/drain design? I'm setting up a frag tank that will be in a bedroom and your design has intrigued me Is there anything you would do differently? I may give it a go.

I love my design, it is honestly so quiet that if I didn't have my skimmer on I wouldn't even know the tank is running. I can shut off my return pump, let it drain, then turn the pump back on and I don't even get the normal slurp on startup! I will do my best to post a video of it running soon. The stand is perfect to me having the 9 1/2" on the 3 viewing sides to be able to lean on or place a beer while you look at the tank, although I know this won't be ideal for a lot of people due to the size. The system is just perfect, I can't think of a single way to improve this, besides equipment to be honest and even then it's pretty ideal without spending a load of extra money. If you are local you are more than welcome to come and check it out in person. I live in Saint Pete, off 34th street and 38th ave.
