Hi Ecotech:

What is your recommendation for lighting this size tank which is mostly LPS corals? Corals on sand are generally lower light demanding.

If your answer is 2 fixtures, how would you line these up over the tank?

Thank you.

JRoweNole,

I would recommend either a single XR30w Radion G3 Pro with our Wide Angle Lens kit or two XR15w G3 Pro. In terms of mounting, I would use two hanging kits. One hanging kit per XR15w would work best for even coverage.

Hi Alex:

Thank you for your prompt response. I have been looking at the XR30W G3 Pro at my LFS, and even had them demonstrate one in the same type of tank (empty) I have. The spread with the stock optics appeared to look adequate, but I, too, was thinking of this model with the wide angle lens. So you believe the wide optic lens would still provide adequate par for sand dwelling LPS even towards the edges? I currently run 6 39W T5's and 3 ReefBrite LED strips.

Thank you again.

What is recommended for this size tank if keeping primarily SPS? Would it take 1 or 2? I also have two 2x39w T5s I could run to supplement. Thanks
