Hello everyone this is my first saltwater tank, I am a high school student with a serious budget :).. It's a 37 gallon bow that i recently set up. It has been running about 4 weeks and i will post more pics once i get some fish.

I have some algae growing in the tank. In the future, will a yellow tang fix this?

looking good, in my opinion, i would lose the bio balls and filter media...they tend to be nitrate factories..... also, im not sure if i would put a yellow tang in a 37....they need at least a 4-foot tank to swim in.... otherwise...looks great!

thanks alot.. any other fish that would help with algae problems? and also my filtration would be better without the balls and pad?

btw, your algea is probably just part of the cycling process...what color and texture is it? If the tank is new, then algea will come and go as the tank matures.... if you are not already, i would suggest using RO/DI water for water changes and top off... Also, a good cleanup crew, i.e. snails and hermit crabs should help with algea.... good luck....

thanks alot, i do not have a skimmer yet and i am not using RO/DI yet. once i get the money i will invest in both and the algae is both brown and green.. hair algae i think
