well, here's a few pics of my 3g picotope that i set up for my aunt over christmas. So its less than 3 months old now but seems to be doing quite well.
and i just thought i'd post this picture (however horrible it may be
) of the digitata that i gave her. When i had it in my tank, it was doing horrible. It went from a nice dark brownish color (the color that its turning in this pic below) to a light pink in my tank. It was because of one of a few things i think...for one, i saw my bicolor blenny picking at it in my 40. Then i dont think it was getting the best light..4x96 PC's over a 40 breeder, but it was only placed like halfway up. Third would have been calcium levels i guess..but i'm not sure that would have killed it.
Anyways, all the polyps were gone and it looked horrible...here it is just 2-3 weeks after being in this tank lol.
i know that pic is horrible and you may not even be able to see it. It was with my phone. I'll try getting some with a real camera sometime, i just keep forgetting to take it over there.
One question...over the last week, there has been a HUGE increase in pods (i believe isopods...they're not the bad ones that have black eyes tho). Most everything that is in this tank came from my 40, and i know that the other stuff that wasnt from my tank had no pods whatsoever. My question is...is this normal for pods to just take off like this? They're like coating the entire glass it seems (i dont know how i got those pics without them turning up too bad). I'm thinking its just a sort of phase and they'll die back after a while, but i've never seen that big of an increase in any of my other tanks. But then again, this is only 3 gallons, so maybe thats why it looks like more?
