I plan on going to this for sure. I know a few people from the MI reefer forum that I would like to check out while I am there. If anyone is intrested in doing a car pool, let me know.

You have 2 months 2 plan. Tell them you can't work that day. I know that will probably be my first vacation day. I hate the weekend shift.

If anyoned is interested in going up let me know, also wondered if anyone in the club would be interested in going in on a table to sell some frags.

If I get my corals cleaned up by then I will probably be going. Most likely I will drive up with my wife though. Hopefully I will see you guys there.

LOL

She went to the one in Ann Arbor with me. :)

After this experience with AEFW I will only be purchasing frags from 1-2 people there that I know are very thorough on dipping and quaratining their stuff.

It's only a matter of time until you get AEFW/Red Bugs if you don't. Even purchasing from the right individuals isn't safe. I have come to realize that quaratining/dipping isn't an option it's a must if you want to keep sps corals. I would say I was more cautious than most before the AEFW hit me. I dipped everything in Interceptor and TMPCC before putting it in my tank and still ended up with the worms. I don't think a lot of people around here dip at all....

You are the first person I have ever heard of doing it. I have heard of people getting pests, but never dipping. I think that would be a great thing to talk about at the meeting thought for sure. It will be an eye opener for us all I am sure. Maybe someone at the meeting will have experience getting rid of them as well and can tell you what worked for them.

Just sent you a PM as well about the meeting

Yeah, I will probably talk about it some at the meeting. I think it is definitely something that people should be aware of. I may try dipping one of my corals during the meeting so people can see what the worms look like. My guess is that people in this area do have pests in their tanks but just don't realize they are killing stuff in their tanks. It's easy to blame the death of frags/colonies on numerous different factors (i.e. lighting, nutrients, etc.).

Very true. I think that would be a great thing to show people at the meeting. I know I have no idea what they look like.
