hey guys i am starting to get everything together for my 4.8 gallon nano tank. i was wondering some thoughts on the stocking of the tank. What live stock would you put in the tank? list all the animals you would put in there. thanks
yea i was thinking that but i didnt know if the tnak would be big enought for the goby.....i am at work....lol....twidiling my thumbs waiting for replys...lol
Fortunately (or unfortunately), you only have about 5 options for fish in a tank that small, and they are limited to the very small gobies. You could probably do a shrimp too, but that's really about it.
This guy lives in cooler water, but it may be fun to try?!? You would have to only keep pacific coast stuff I think (they are in the cooler water). Just a thought.
interesting thought on the cold water...maybe...but both links you posted dont work...lol...the bluezoo one just came up as the main page and the vivid came up site not found...
nm it worked in the other thread...yea the flame gobies are nice...lol.. also like that other goby but what other fish are cool water fish??as well as inverts?? as well as coral??? that is my main concern because this is goin to be Ricordia tank, both yuma and florida.
I have an 8 gal Biocube. (I really don’t think that its 8 but that’s another story) In it I have about half and inch of sand, maybe 5-10 lbs of rock.
As for livestock:
purple fire fish
scooter blenny
scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp
one blue leg hermit
one orange banded hermit (I’m really not sure what he is I had him sold to me as a scarlet hermit)
and 5 astrea snails
The only mods I did were add a hydor, swapped in a small mag pump, and cut down the guard on from the first chamber to the second to increase flow. Everyone has been happy for about 4-5 months now. Once a week I do a ~50% water change and that has all my parameters looking good. With the water change I suck out as much waste as possible as well. I feed them 3 times a day with frozen mysis, cyclopeze, and flakes. Mysis is the major food the others are every now and then to give them something more. I have even seen the blenny eat flakes once in a while although I think its more by mistake .
cool. yea if you count the back area where my heater and filtration will be it is about 6 gallons. that sounds like cool setup. where did you go to get the rock? local? anywho, do you have any coral in there?
I personally wouldn't put any fish in that tank, but that's mostly because I'm not a fan of the small gobies. I would do a few inverts though as I enjoy watching crabs and such crawl around. Just my taste though.
