4 mo. old tank have questions

a lot of problems can be solved with RO\DI. canisters can be useful if cleaned often. I run one with carbon and gfo and have no nitrates. UV's are almost useless in a sw tank. all nem's need a mature tank.

. . . Here are the questions
1) i have some green hair allege that stared about a month ago. . .

As you system matures, which in my experience takes 8 months to a year, you should see various types of alga come and go as well as sudden population explosions and die-offs of various "critters" so your hair algae I would expect. Fossa and Nilsen have a good chart on pg 164 of Vol I of their "Modern Coral Reef Aquarium" series that outlines the typical outbreaks of cyano, Derbersia and Bryopsis as they take over then dissappear. This video demonstrates one system I setup and shows initially a bad outbreak of the sporophyte stage of Asparagopsis aka Red Hair Algae that dissappeared without any remedial action. Also of note is P04 was at .4 mg/l during the last segment so phosphates do not necessarily contribute to algae problems.

. . . 2) the haitian enenome is turning kind of brown, spots, like he's dirty. . .

What color was your anemone before it started developing the brown spots?
I'm guessing the brown spots are symbiotic Symbodium spp. dinoflagellates (zooxanthellae). Any animal using them will adjust their population according to environmental conditions, in this case it's "probably" adapting to changes in lighting. Also keep in mind the fluorescing and chromo proteins animals produce are to deal with specific aspects of lighting, intensity and/or spectrum, and sometimes subtle changes can make a big difference in an animals appearance.

. . .
3) I have small white spots all over and they are very hard to get off.
4) some pineapple sponges
5 I have what i think is a couple stomatella snails just showed up out of no where.

Thank you for taking the time to help me out. This forum has been a big help.

All good things.

I am a big fan of UV sterilizers to control external parasites but a 9 watt is way to small for a 75 gallon and your flow is probably 10 - 12 times to much. I would use it on a 10 or 20 gallon QT unless you're running copper which should not be used concurrently with a UV sterilizer.
