40 gal sistem / Romania

I opened a one journal pool from my 40 gal sistem.
His story is pretty simple ...

After some time, due to personal problems and changing home I had to give up my reef system (~ 150 g). I wanted to quit for a while in this hobby, but...

A very very good friend, managed to get me to not give up and start a smaller system. I received from him a small aquarium and stand, how you can keep a pair of clownfish and some coral. I gave up the idea of this system is still too small (15 gal), but the momentum was enough to start a system startup.

Aquarium is an older one which I have replaced the front and sides with ultra clear glass.
tank: -36 "x16" x16 "~ 40 gal.
- 2 Koralia pumps Evolio 5200 pumps.
- LED lamp 15x10w, D.I.Y, blue: white = 2:1.

Sump:
- 3 compartments.
- Sice Silent recirculation pump (357 gal / h).
- Skimmer Aqua Medic Turboflotor Multi SL 1000.

The idea of a system is clean, minimalist, with sps corals.
Also from Lucian got a dry reef rock from which you make your aquascaping.

Biological filtration is achieved with 2 gal matrix, placed in a container in the second compartment of the sump. Water will pass over it to the pump room.
I use a phosphate reactor environment and a sink for carbon bag.
I plan to use and biopallets, although in the past I have had very good results with vinegar.

I do not know whether to choose an aquarium with / without substrate ....!
Expect any opinion! :)

P.S.
Please excuse my expression in English. Is not one of my strengths!

Wow, I love your setup! Very nice tanks. I would say No substrate if you're going with a SPS system. If you do want to have substrate, I would only do a thin layer of sand.

Thank you!

I always had a thin layer of sand. I prefer a sistem ,,clean,, in which cleanliness to be easy.
The problem is that if I put substrate, it is a small grain and the pumps would lift ...!
I think I'll do a test and see how it behaves when starting pump...

Hi,
The hardware is ready. I modified the light.
Skimmer is in vinegar to clean the deposits.
Matrix is cycled from old system .... During this interval was put in water with added vinegar to maintain the population of bacteria. We sit in the second chamber, the black container. I'll be easier to keep clean.
Stone is. We chose to dry reef rock. I prefer to know that is clean.
I keep a small layer of sand, up to 1 cm.

Need Compleat osmosis water and then add salt. Aquavitro.

I let a week to stabilize and then, if parameters are ok I will start adding creatures.

Ready! :)
I had finished all the tracks.
I wait a few days to stabiizeze, then I will enter 2-3 small fish.
When water parameters are ok, I start adding corals.
Matrix is cycled for 2 years, only to settle colonies of bacteria.
Within 2 weeks I get gradually to a light schedule of 9-10 hours / day.
