I have a 40g breeder tank with a drilled corner.Idea is to be mostly coral. But would like input on what types and how many fish can safely be put in it.Thanks
I have the same size tank. I read in a book that people can safely stock 1 inch of fish for every 2 gallons of tank water. So you and I could stock 20 inches of fish. You plan for their full-grown size, and measured as if end-to-end of course.
I'm in the same boat as you. I like mostly corals in my 40 breeder. Right now the only fish I have in there is a firefish. I plan on adding a pair of percula clowns and a flame angel. Maybe a yellow watchman goby, but not sure about that one yet.
In my 40 breeder I have a pair percula clowns, yellow watchman, purple fire fish, clown fairy wrasse, and a lubbuck faiy wrasse. That's six fish, I would like to add another but I think I'm max out. The tank is 7 months old with mostly sps with a few lps. All of these fish have been living together for the past 3 months with no problem.
