maybe try a small hammer or froggie
Or a big hammer or froggie [emoji12]. This hobby isn't about saving money lol.
Hey, I'm all about saving money! We have a really nice, large Hammer I can get for about $45. I've been eyeing it up for a very long time. About 4" in diameter and about 3 or 4" high on a very small rock in one of the frag tanks. It's gorgeous.
Unfortunately it will have to wait a while. Vacation plans and the wife would not be happy with that buy right now.
Still...
Just talk to your LFS and ensure its there when you get back ;-). Perhaps a down payment?

Its also not about going out and wasting your money on a coral that you don't even know your tanks ready for![]()
Well, I work there (not in the pet department though) and a good friend runs the saltwater part of it. It's been there a while and he can always get more in.
Of course, but have you seen this tank!?
You have a valid point there:spin2:
Looking amazing!
Thanks. For a weed tank maybe.Yours is looking incredible with those huge gorgonians. Makes me want one...just not sure where one could go in my tank.
There is a gorgeous hammer coral I want at my LFS...4" in diameter and in fabulous shape...about $40 my cost. Brilliant bright green. I know right where I'd put it. Ugh...short on cash at the moment though.
Start a tab lol
That Hammer would be just a tad bit hard to hide from my wife. For someone who still calls it my "fish tank" (with a touch of disdain) she sure is curiously interested in it and knows everything in there. She loves looking at it more than I do sometimes.
I doubt I could pull off a "Oh look at this hitchhiker dear...it grew into this huge Hammer coral overnight!".
Lol, how about - man, I can't believe weeds grow like that! Meh, I may as well leave it now that it's there
