This is the most important part of your post, IMO. Same reason I have a 250W DE PFO over a 30g hex, becasue I knew I would be upgrading to a bigger tank. In this case, I'd say yes, go for it. For the time being, if you do notice corals suffering from the light, as mentioned, raise them, use screen and/or use lower par bulbs.
