ThatÃ"šÃ‚´s its.

I want to know because I am thinking to upgrade but I dunno if I will do something good for my animals or burn them....

don't know what size tank you have...I've had 400 w MH on softies and LPS...didn't burn them...but it depends on how high you mount them and what size tank you have

If your 400 watts are on your 69 gallon tank, then no. I've got 800 on a 75, haven't bleached lobophyllia, favia, galaxea, alveopora, or tubastrea (ha). I do have a 1/4 pane of glass over the top of the tank, and the lights themselves are about 10 inches off the water surface.

i have a 58gal with a 400watt and i haven't had any problems with bleaching, Mike

I have a 58g Oceanic and I have a 400w Mh as well. I run 20k radium bulb and have great coloration from all of my lps. I only have it on for about 5 hours a day. The rest of the day I run 225w of VHO

nah, just keep the more sensitive lps farther away from the halide.
corner, under a rock, sand bed

Ok, I think you need more information.

My tank is 32" long x 18" wide and 20"high.
It is not the 69, that information is not updated, sorry.

On the other hand, I have now a 250w HQI DE, and they are doing great, but I though on a 400w will be better, so I sold the 250 nd I need to install the 400w. If it is too much, I will buy a 250w MH SE and place it on the tank.

I have now:
1 pavona
1 galaxea
1 carpet anemone
xenia elongata
xenia umbrelata
1 spaguetti
3 sarcos
1 sinularia
1 finger leather
1 colt
mushrooms of different colors
3 types of ricordeas
2 hammers
1 frogspaw
yellos zoo
and some palitoas.

Let me know now with this info, what do you think.

I have 400W over LPS and Softies, and have had good success for years. The various leathers seem to do fine, as well as hammer, bubble and frogspawn corals, zooanthids, open brains, favites, blastomussa, etc. My tank is 30" deep, though.
I would say that you should have no problems, though the mushrooms might not like it too much. Whatever you do, you'll need to acclimate everything to the brighter light by either temporarily screening the light or starting out with it much further above the water than your final setting.

Of course, 400W means you're nearly doubling the heat input from the lamp and nearly doubling your lighting bill, for whatever that's worth.
