400w mh on a 120

I would do 1 for every 2 ft. 3 is probably overkill. I have 2 on my 180 and am thinking about a third since it's 6ft long but it's not a necessity with the tanks only 24" deep. It will def. be good for sps.

its a 6ft tank. might be a 110 idk ive never ran it on a calculator the guy i got it from called it a 120.

what reflectors should i use to spread it properly if i only run 2 bulbs.

should i look into actinic supplementation? ive got a vho/pc ballast as well.

the whole thing is going to be retrod into a canopy.

Use lumenarc or lumenmax reflectors. IMO they will give the best spread only bad thing is they are BIG.

Otherwise I would use 3 pendants or 3 retrokits. That will give you good even coverage.

I'm thinking of putting a 400W for every foot of tank on my 30" deep tank, it's a little deeper than a regular 24" deep tank.

That would be 400W x 6 for a total of 2400W / 225gal for almost 11W per gallon...hope it is enough for SPS. I think the growth rates will finally be up to my expectations. I might need to add some T5s for supplemental lighting or the sunrise/sunset transition.

I'm also thinking of getting a second and possibly a third job to pay for the electricity. Does anyone know if anyone is hiring?

Oh yeah…I think I may run into a little heating problem. What size of chiller should I get? I’m also thinking that I may into a little evaporation problem that will lead to condensation problems. I might need to get a few more dehumidifiers.

You know…maybe I’ll stick with my three 250W HQI DE. I didn’t do to bad back in the day with VHO…anybody remember when that was the FAHSHIZZEL!
