400w MH on a 29g, way too much?

I have a 250 MH on a 10 and everything is doing well. I have read high light requires high flow. and buy high light type corals you'll be ok. Heat is the only issue I see

Cool, well the tank stays at a constant 78 degrees now with no cooling at all and about 260w of lighting.

I do have an open top, so I'm sure that helps. I have some PC fans laying around that I was going to use in a hood a while back that I suppose I could use if needed. The fixture also has fans in it.

How deep is the 29? YOu can always raise the MH higher. That pebblestone reflector is going to diffuse some of the light as well. When you put the corals in, start at the bottom and work up slowly till they acclimate. If they start browning out on you, they are getting too much light.
