I currently have a 40b with two clowns and a firefish. Looking for ideas on what my next fish should be. Tank has been up for almost two years and has had these three fish for about a year.

2 clowns in a tank that old been in there a year, your going to need a smart fish thats not a wussie. honestly any fish you add in a tank that size after the clowns establishing for a full year is 50/50 but i'd go for a six line or 8 line wrasse if it's going to be your last fish.

Thanks for the ideas.

I was starting to get worried about the clowns. I got them when they were really tiny, now they are just under an inch and about an 1.25-1.5". The bigger one is starting to show aggression towards the other one from time to time. I've read the dominant one will go through a sex change and can get aggressive during that period, but I'm still learning. I was hoping to be able to get 5-6 fish in total, I hope I didn't mess it up by waiting so long.

+1 on a starry blenny, I love mine. I'd also recommend a banghaii cardinal and a coris wrasse. They might get roughed up by your clowns, however.

Clowns can definitely be territorial in a smaller tank. I had one in my 40 breeder that I wanted to be a wrasse tank. The clown would harrass any new wrasse that I would put in. I eventually moved the clown to my bigger tank because he was to much of a pain.

As far as fish, I really like wrasses & leopards inperticular. If that is the route I go just make sure to do your research on the specific fish, which should really be done regardless

Thanks for all the replies! I'll take good consideration before buying anything and do my research.
