45gallon fish?

I have a 45 gallon rimless tank. I have already decided I want a yellow tang and a clown fish. The yellow tang will eventually get to big, I know, so I talked to my LFS owner and he will trade the tang in when he gets to big. But in addition to those fish I want a third, something colorful and active ( like some kind of wrasse ). Please let me know what kind of third fish I could have. Thx.

You're going to put a tang in a 45? Even if your lfs takes him back someday, its like keeping a great Dane in a pet carrier 24/7...he may survive but will not thrive. It's cruel.

Alright then forget the tang but I want a total of three fish what should they be?

A Midas blenny would be a good choice. Very engaging and friendly.
A flasher wrasse might work but you're on the fringes in terms of tank size.

There are lots of awesome fish you could put in there:

Yellow:

Midas blenny
yellow prawn goby
Multiple Yellow Clown Gobies

other options:

Carpenter Flasher Wrasse (needs 50 gallons) (get a small one)

Small School of b/g reef chromis

Couple clowns

Black cap basslet

Royal Gramma

fire fish

Thx for the recommendation. I know I have a small tank but I will try to get a larger one one day. Do u have any tanks you recommend (brand or size).

Clownfish are nice, yellow watchman goby's are too, but any type of goby NEEDS a top or they will jump (I sometimes I see my YWG swimming to the top when all the lights are off!) that's why I have egg create, it's a good starter for a top because its cheap but it doesn't look nearly as good as screening (if screening works with your tank get it instead).

My hoeven's wrasse is nice, but they will find the smallest of opening to jump so you need a tight fitting egg create or screening (though I have never witnessed my wrasse try to jump) which can be hard to make so I use foam and crazy glue to cover any other openings that the egg create didn't cover.

I've got a McCosker's flasher wrasse in my 40b and he's doing just fine. IMO and IME McCosker's wrasse is a nicer looking wrasse than the Carpenters.
