46 Gallon Stocking List

I decided about a month ago my 16 nano reef just wouldnt cut it. I then chose a 46 gallon project( i would have chosen larger but it had to fit in a 38 inch space.).
Well it is coming together and i put in the money for a quality sump/refugium, a good light and plumbing. it isnt all assembled yet but i really wanted to start a stocking list.

it would be for fish and corals and inverts, but i will just focus on the fish for now.

-kole yellow eye tang
-flashers fairy wrasse
-long fin fairy wrasse
-dispar anthias
-other

i would like to buy all of these within 1-2.5 inch range.

any input would be great.

I wouldn't put any Tang in a 46..Anthias are better in groups and also need a larger tank.

Not sure about the two different Fairy Wrasses. Same species may mean trouble..I would go with one

What about an Argi Angel?
Flame Hawkfish?

I agree with BTTRFLYGRL. If you want to keep a Flame Hawkfish like she suggested, you can't have any motile inverts. The Argi Angel may nip at corals although less of a risk than other Dwarf Angels.

How about a pair of Clowns, a Royal Gramma, a Goby, and a Fairy Wrasse?

I second the no Tang theory. I had a Kole in my 65 and he still didn't have enough room. Ended up stressed -> Ich -> dead. I've always likes Blenny's, Goby's, and Clowns since they are friendly and will get along fine in a smaller tank. And buying them in the 1"-2.5" doesn't do any good since they will all grow eventually.

As of right now I have a pair of clowns, a pair of banggai cardinals, and a royal gramma in my 46g bowfront. I was thinking about a dwarf angel but went with the royal gramma and i am pleased. They all get along and don't cause any problems.

thanks for all your info. my options are still up in the air, for i'm just putting water in the tank this month, and i will focus on the aquascaping and corals before i pay a lot of attention to the fish.

thanks for everything though.
