4ft sump design for 150 display tank

So I'm getting ready to set up my 150 gallon display tank with a 60 gallon sump.

It's basically a 60 gallon acrylic tank that is 48x15x18 and I'm going to put baffles etc.

I'm trying to come up with an easy maintenance sump.

1. On the left side will be the drain that will have a baffle and force water up and over 3 filter socks. This way the filter socks can be easily changed with out having to move the drain pipe etc. So the drain pipe will not go directly into the sock. Wish I had a pic to show what I mean. 8 inches wide

2. Next would be the skimmer section. 12 inches wide

3. Next would be a media section. I was thinking of doing this instead of using media reactors. Would this be better or stick with reactors? 6-8 inches wide

4. Next would be the return section. 6 inches wide

5. And at the end would be the refugium. I'll tee of the drain to have some water diverted to the refugium. This will drain back to the middle return section. 12-14 inches wide.

So how does this sound? The section widths aren't exact as I have account for baffles etc.

1. I use a silicone tube for the last 12" of drain line going into my filter socks, makes it very easy to simply push the tube over to the next filter sock when changing them out.
2. I combine the skimmer and filter sock holder into a single section.
3. You get better use of whatever you are running in a reactor rather than just having the water flow through the media, I use reactors fed from my return pump.
4. Be sure your return pump section is big enough to handle all the drain down water when the pumps are off or you will have a flood.
5. Sounds good.
For reference here is my sump before the tank was set up, it goes
filter socks/skimmer-> Refugium -> Return Pump section

Thanks for your response. Great idea with the flex tubing for the drain. That is what I'll do. I think I'll also stick with my reactors...I have them anyway...

Nice sump by the way!

Thanks, here is the sump installed before water. It's a little hard to see since I have the fresh water and two part reservoirs sitting in front of the sump, but you can see the flex tubing drain running down in the photo.
