4ft Tank Vortech Placement

I would like to know any owners of a 4ft tank.Where you placed your vortechs one on each side or two on the same side.Just wanted to get some feedback from other reefers,If you put them on the same side what setting did you use on your controller to get a nice wave.

I only have one and it's placed on the the left side of the tank (as you're looking at the tank) about 1/4 of the way down from the top of the tank. This is on a 150 gal (48X24X30)

Same as Icashman, I have only one Vortech on my 75 gal and it's placed on the left side viewed from the front. I run it in pulse mode just below max power with maximum time interval. It creates a nice undertow. Tried the wave thing but I like the current setting better. IMO a wave on the surface does not necessarily mean optimum flow for the tank inhabitants.

My Vortech is about 3 inches from the surface.

I'll chime in. I have a 6' tank, but 1 vortech on one side only creates flow to about the first 4'. I have 2 on the back wall of my standard 180, and one on one side. The two on the back wall are about 6" from the water line and have to be run at 75% to keep sand allong the front glass. The 1/2 that has the other pump on that side has really cool flow. I hope to add another to the other side for christmas.

I have a 4ft 90 gallon tank and I have one vortech on each side. Have them on long pulse mode right now and I get great flow throughout my tank.

Only Have one in my 120 Tech Tank,Plenty of power.. It's Kinda hard to see. all the way on right side behind the mag float..
