I am planning my next tank and and wavering between a 48x30x20 and 60x30x20. Besides thinking bigger is better what would a 5ft tank allow me to keep that the 4ft would not?
Thanks

Keep in mind that there are only guidelines. Off hand, I would feel more comfortable about keeping some tangs, triggers and angelfish in a 5' tank than a 4' tank.

how can an extra 31 gallons be bad....LOL

one thing to think about might be things like lighting however. Not much made for a 60" tank.

There is nothing bad about a larger tank but it does cause a few challenges with placement in my home. I always want bigger but was just realizing the difference between the two doesn't qualify me for larger fish.

The way I look at it is-
If the tank is IN your home, then get the tank that looks the best and fits the best. I dont care how awesome the fish or corals are....nothing looks worse than a reef tank that is way oversized for the space. Keep the wires hidden, no industrial lighting, etc. IMO...tanks should add to the decor.
