5.5 gallon nano

Was wondering if a skimmer or hob filter is a necessity on a nano reef. Has anyone tried the oceanic biocube skimmer? What skimmer or hob filter would you guys recommend? I have a 5.5 gal with a 10x3w LED and a Hydor pico 180gph powerhead

I have a Aquaticlife internal mini skimmer 115. its small and is very efficient. I have to empty it every 2 days. I was using it on a 10 gallon tank, and am moving it to my new 20 gallon. I'd recommend it over anything if you are thinking about getting one. But for 5 gallons, water changes would be good enough as long as you keep up with them.

Im thinking about putting a current usa 2 bulb 36w fixture on my 5.5gal. I want to grow sps corals. Would 6.5wpg be enough light? I want it to sit on my countertop so I dont have room for a sump. Whats a good hob filter? Is it important/recommended to have one? Whats the necessary equipment to grow sps on a nano besides an ATO

The light should be okay. A good hob filter is an aquaclear. In any tank containing hard corals it os recommended you dose calcium and alk. Not sure on that but that's what I would do for sps tank. Pick out a good ATO and never run it directly to your rodi

Bought an ac50 last night along with some chempure elite and phospad. Which would be better? Modding it into a fuge or putting the phospad and chempure elite? I am also thinking about a 120w LED fixture for it bringing the wpg total to 21. Will this bleach sps,lps and softies? All of the totm on here have really high wpg

im running an aquaclear30 on my 5.5 gallon nano full blast with rubble in the media area my tank seems to love it not running a skimmer i do drop a paper towel once a week on top for surface skimming also do a 30% water change once a week these smaller tanks are a tad more maintenance then a larger tank.
