5 gallon nano tank - pics

my husband is the one on here usually, since he is the one with the larger tank. but i have a 5 gall. nano that i think is doing pretty good. was just woundering what others thought.

Very nice tank. But the clowns will out grow your tank soon. IMO a 5 gallon is too small for them.

the clowns have been in there for over a year and seem to be doing great. but thanks for your opion. i do know eventually i will probally have to move them to my husbands tank. but i am going to try to keep and enjoy them as long as i can.

It is a 20 watt pc lighting, 50/50.

Great tank! Those corals are doing really well for having 20w of lighting! Do you protien skim this tank or just do a lot of water changes?

No we dont do anything fancy at all. When my wife and I set this tank up we wanted to try and keep it as simple as possible. It is nothing more that a 5 gal tank with a standard filter, heater and a 20w pc bulb that fits the hood that came with the tank. That is it. The tank has been up for 1 1/2 years now and is doing great. As a matter of fact it does better with Froggies, Bubbles, and blasto's than in my big fancy tank. It is the best most trouble free tank in the house. Water change about once a month and add water for evap once a week.

is that a bubble coral in the top left? Looks cool. Hows its growth? Have you had any problems with it?

honestly...great. my husband has a larger tank. which he has had 3 bubbles in. all of them ended up in my tank at one time or the other. even he would say they grow better in mine. for whatever the reason bubbles, frogspawn and blastos just do better in my tank. i think it is because of the lower light and flow, but i'm not for sure.

love this tank, I could tell it was mature before you mentioned it's age. There's no fastrack to something that looks as good as this!

I've also found that some LPS do better under lower light.
