500 gal Ocean Critters

Hi, after watching for awhile, I decided to post some pics and get some feedback. Ok so awhile has been a couple of years and I should have hit everyone up before I started this journey. Anywho, a tank on ebay, a slow start and a long learning curve. I will try to post pics to give some historical perspective. My tanks have normally been fish heavy and coral lite, but I would like to get a nice balance. This is mainly due to starting out with little lighting, and adding on as I went. It's the wrong way to go about it, but the learning curve takes some time and moolah. If one knew in the beginning to read 8 books first and then start-- well there u go. At the moment I have a litte over a thousand gallons of tank in my home, a 500 DT with 125 sump, a 220 DT with 55 sump, and a 200 gallon FW with 20 sump. 220 has puffers, the 200 africans.

This pic is from a year ago.

I have a small leak : (

I have a small leak : (

I moved my tank in November. Had a few issues due to all the sponge die off. Now I am trying to get it back on track. This morning I have a small leak near the top in the silicone. I lowered the water level. It's a canadian made tank approx 6 years old. The silicone is almost black, maybe alittle brown in it. I do not know who in canada made the tank, i bought it from someone who could not figure out how to set it up. Any thoughts on what type of silicone to use- plug the hole? I will post some pics, thanks in advance.

sides of hole, small slit. Does anyone have a good guess on the silicone, i want to keep it the same if I can.

Make sure whatever silicone you use has no fungicides or mildewcides (most kitchen and bathroom silicones have these poisons in them).
