Did everything stay level now that its fully filled? Ours looks like its about 1/8" low on one side, I think it may be the carpet.

Yep right on. The stand weighs a lot and was there for a couple months so I think it settled all it could. I tweaked the leveling the day before I picked up the tank.

On Custom Aquariums site they have .5 inch glass as the default on the 500gallon. Did you use 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch? Did you get Ultra Clear on the front/sides?

Did the drains get any quieter after putting in the inserts?

Is the tank sitting directly on the plywood on top of the stand, or did you use foam as well. Seriously considering these builders for my 365.

I dont use foam for anything glass.

Fish! Has the tank cycled and did you add anything to speed up the process? Are you planning to leave the bottom bare?

I really love the 48in width allowing for multiple rows of rock and still have room to clean all sides of the glass. In my 125 there's not much hope for cleaning the back wall.

It cycled about 2 months ago in the basement. Just expended it pretty much. Nothing detectible. Bare bottom yes.

Question: You mention in your last video that you are away during the day and don't often get a chance to see your tank when it is fully lit. Why don't you gradually shift the photoperiod to suit your schedule?

Agreed. I have my lights set so that I can enjoy the tank when I'm home. Lights start to come on around 10:30am, fully ramped up by 11:30am when I get home for lunch. Then they start to ramp down at 7:30pm, moonlight by 8:30pm. We're out of that room by that time.

I have them on early so I can see and feed them in the morning before I leave.
