ok i just got me a 500g water container now i have a good Q???? how long can i keep waater good in this container and whats beter keep it with natural sea water or mix my own looking at cost $$$$ making my R/O or geting some one who brings me the water

A lot of people will say getting someone to bring it to you. As far as I know and read, you can keep saltwater in it for as long as you like but just keep it stirred up.

Some good point and weak points about making water and just getting it from the sea itself. high tide, low tide... etc.

I think if you keep it moving with a small air pump or powerhead it will last a long time

Hey Manny so for water changes am I going change over to you?
What's the Manny saltwater rate going to be...lol

isn't older water better anyway as long as there's no nutrient build up? I suppose storing it would just allow more bacteria to colonize on the surfaces of the container.

Wouldn’t made up water keep longer than natural sea water? Just because made water is just RO and salt no real natural matter to break down or nothing that is suspended in the water when you get it… I have been told that natural is better and I understand why but which would have the best shelf life?

well i just have to many problem with the water changing thing lol this is just for me to make sure i do s water change every 2 weeks or so lol

You will love it Manny. It's been heaven on earth for me ever since we go the 250g tank. Just got back from a trip and changed 60g in my big tank and 50g in my prop tank within minutes.
If you're coming over this weekend, you can see how we have it hooked up, and we are still improving to have it almost totally automated.
I have my water delivered every 2 weeks.
