50g fish list

So I am setting up a new 50g tank with a 40 breeder sump and around 80# of rock. It will be power by an itech 200 skimmer.

I want to put the following in

2 ORA maindrain dragonette
2 hellrich firefish
3 barlette anthias

I know this might be a bit much for my tank, but the plan is to do 10% weekly water change. What so you think?

Actually that would be understocked in my opinion. However a couple of things with your list. Mandarins needs a big live copepod population and the pair would have enough in that sized tank IF it was setup for a while. The tank needs to build the pod population up before you add them or they will starve to death. I love my helfrichi pair but you should have some sort of top on your tank to keep them from jumping. They are known jumpers and that is an expensive dead fish on your carpet.

On a side note I did not know that ORA was breeding mandarins, do you have a link?

3 barlets need more room and i dont think you would have to pod supply to support 2 madrins, 1 would be good the amount and sixe is good but bartletts are too active for a 50.

Well ORA just announce it and their maindrain will eat pellet food. I am not talkin about putting them straight in now, but this will be after the tuen tha to already have a mass population of pod going. Didn't think about the jumper, what kind of screen would be good over it?

Just saw the mandarin post on ************. I believe they will all eat frozen, but it is good to have live food.

You can build a screen top, a lot of people have them on here.
