i spoke to a guy from the sac craigslist a few weeks ago about some 55g barrels.. he said they stored the syrup for coca cola/pepsi.. is this the same guy? is OK to store water in it after its been used for that purpose?

I don't think the tops come off.
I used to work with some of these barrels and they just usually have two screw openings. (2"-3")

Yup, funman1 is correct.
I bought 3 and haven't use them yet because I don't have time to figure out how to cut the top off :lol: ..

i got two of the blue 50 gal barrels with the slip over top for like 5 or 10 bucks somewhere in lathrop/stockton...they might be used (not sure, might be new too) but nothing more than chicken feed.

i'll take at least 2 for the $5 each price... i even have a truck to help out with some transport if needed... i'd probably only be able to carry 6 or so...
