Is there a source for 55 gallon drums out here?

When I lived in So Cal the Local Coca-Cola would give away the 55 gallon drums for cheap/free that they used to hold the flavoring syrup for their soda.

Is there any source for drums like that out here?

I bought a few of them from a Feed Store in Dade City. They are food grade with screw on tops and cost $12.00 each. There was a thread not too long ago where someone was buying the same ones in Tampa for under $5.00.

Yes, Vigo foods near the airport. I got a 3 some time ago for real cheap. I think it was $3 or $5 or something like that. they are 59 gallon black drums with screw on tops. They were used for Pepperonchino peppers. I soaked my in water, changing it every other day for about a week. They still have a slight odor. But I've been using them, and my corals don't know the difference.

I don't remember the name of the road but Vigo has just about all the buildings on both sides of the street. Go almost all the way down the street, one of the last warehouses on the left has them. They were stacked up outside when I went by.

Here is what I found with a quick search... I will swing by there at lunch and see what they got.

That's it. Just remember that the address they give is for the administration building. You need to go to one of the warehouses. The administration building will be on your left. The warehouse you need to go to is on the right about two or three buildings past the administration building. There may be barrels outside to help you find it.

awesome, thank you!

I ran by there at lunch. Raul is the guy we need to talk to, he was at lunch himself. No price quoted, but they have dozens of them

I wanted to pick 10 of them up - but i cannot make it up there until tomorrow - of course they are closed on saturdays ...

is there anybody that would be able to pick a few of them up today, and i will pick them up from you tomorrow?

Bah... they do not fit in my car... and I can not get my wife's van down there during their business hours...

So I purchased a couple from the "Farm Store" down the street from my house. $16 each, but I could get them easily. $10 sure charge for easy purchase, Cest La Vie

Free enterprise at its finest!

I look at it like this...

Drive home... 1 hour (time lost, have to get home)
Drive back to the airport in wife's car ... 1 hour
Buy Barrels
Drive back home 1 hour

pay $5 for gas...

so is gas and 2 hours of time worth saving $15?
Yesterday is was not :-)
