55 Gallon FOWLR tank up 4 Sale.

Alright. I'm Selling a 55 Gallon FOWLR tank.. Oh it has one coral, lol i think it's a toadstool; He' s not a bad lookin' coral.. Anyways lol the tank is filled with liverock. All kinds of shapes and sizes. Decently colored. Has a pair of Maroon Clownfish and a Purple Tang. Live sand substrate. Awesome stand. Fish are in good health, just a FYI. Tanks is mature enough it won't grow that nuisance algae. Been set up for about 2-3 years i'd say. Maybe 4.

Equipment (I'll update)

Wet/Dry filter
Mechanical emperor 400 filter
2 powerheads
some digital thermometer
a heater
a nice lighting fixture
And all the stuff in my storage closet.. It's like picking a candy bar

Anyways i'll get some pictures once i have it cleaned up and ready to go. Price i'm not to sure of yet. I was hoping at least around $1,500. We'll make business : )

Reason for selling

I just don't have the interests anymore of the funds to keep it up. College is rollin' around. And as you can see on the equipment lists i have completely forgot what my tank is. I don't touch it anymore other than adding water lol. I have newer interests.. Girls and well my Mustang.. Love every thing about the mustang hobby. Well i'm on my way to take a look at the tank.. I'll get some pictures and update the lists.

If interested.. I personally feel this would be an awesome beginner tank for anyone who has the time to invests in it. And this isn't a "lemon". If anything it's not in it's former glory, but as a destroyed, or bleached, reef can bring anew life.. So can this tank.. Ok just leave a posts here i'll check back, in due time.

Now that i'm thinking about it.. It might just be easier if i sold justs the live rock and livestock and than the tank and equipment. Hmm....
 
I want the fish. How much for the fish? And the live rock, how much. this will get you started. A lot of people part out their systems. It's easier to sell that way. Let me know. How big are these fish?
 
Purple Tang is about 3-4 1/2 inches. Clowns are well the female is 3-4 inches the male is 1-2 inches. Their kinda in a bit of stress tonight. I'm real worried.. lol. Just did a major water change and clean up. Oh and i shocked myself.. Which really hurt lol.

I'll posts pictures up tommorow when the newly added salt disolves. I'm really interested in selling just the rock and fish, for now. Been a long day lol.. My hand feels dead from where i got shocked lol.. And i dropped the light knocking 3 bulbs out.. fun fun.

EEEK!!!!! hope the fish survive.
 
Surely you did not add salt directly to the tank.
If so it probably is a good idea for you to just get out of the hobby at least until you have time to learn what it takes to keep a reef tank. Best of luck with your other endeavors.

I do not know, maybe he just needs some guidance. 54 post means he probably does not know much about reefs/marine tanks.

However, Lord Nemo your price seems steep for a 55 but maybe I have lost touch with reality. Remember, you will never get what you paid when it was new when you sell aquarium equipment. I have seen many larger tanks posted on this forum for much less with great equipment and livestock. I think most people sell their equipment for about 2/3 to 1/2 of what it costs new.

I hope you can get what you want out of it :)
 
No, I did not add salt directly, to the aquarium. It's just always kinda "fuzzy" after i add it. No i'm not expecting $1,500, at all. I swear i'm not as noobie as this all sounds...
 
Btw the fish are fine. The salinity is fine. And like no i did not shock my fish.. The light was out of the tank and i was cleaning it really close and i touched the wire thingy when i took the bulb out.. lol way to jump on my case.

As for the fish and live rock price. I'll let you guys make that decision, after you see the pictures.

Yeah, and I bought my most recent tank at a great deal. A 380g acrylic tank and stand, plus a 75g sump, plus ICECAP 660 with endcaps, reflectors and everything all for $1000.
 
A friend of mine here in our club was going to sell her 150 gal tank to me for $400 (I wanted it soooooooo bad) I sold my 55 gal completely set up for fresh water fish, gravel, filters, live stock, stand and all for $75. Of course fresh water is not even close to saltwater price wise. I don't think anyone meant to jump your case, here in our club our main interest is the health of the animals, so when we though that maybe you had added the salt directly to your tank, we were concerned and wanted to educate you if you had done this. We probably came across strong, but the longer you are in our "family" you will not take it as being agressive, most people in here have a lot of expierence and love to share it with others, that is the whole reason for our club. I hope you sell your tank, you may get more money out of it by selling things seperately. Good luck
 
Alright took pictures. Was really hard trying to get good ones lol.. Considering 3 bulbs are out dead. Going to work now. I'll get em here by about 8.
 
Sorry was gettin it all together. I tried really hard to light the pictures up considering my main aquarium light is out. The other clownfish just didn't want to leave his cave so i couldn't get one of the bigger one.

I'm surprised the rock came out decent, in the picture lol. Some of these rocks are in fact tampa Bay saltwater rock.. to bad all the life died off in a year lol..
 
So is my rock base or somewaht decorative? Considering it's pretty much only got corralline on it? Lol looks better under good lighting too..
