I want to get two new powerheads for my 55 gallon tank.I was thinking of getting some Hydor Koralia powerheads but I dont know if i should get the Type 2 or 3 ?The type 2 is 600GPH and the type 3 is 850GPH.And how should i place them?If you have a 55 gallon tank with these please post a pic of how they are placed. Thanks

I don't have them but I'm also thinking of upgrading from my MJs. I'll bump and hopefully someone who has them will respond.

I'm curious about this too. Right now my tank really doesn't have enough water movement, I just have two MJ900s and my return pump.

I did put in a single Seio 820 (800 gph) which worked pretty well, until it just stopped working... one thing I will caution you about-- especially with 2 800 gph powerheads-- while more flow is better, you might find that having too much flow can cause problems too. Even with just one stronger pump, I was finding that some of my corals on the sandbed were getting buried. Maybe just get one at a time?

I have a 55 with one K3. It's in the top left corner pointed at an angle towards the middle of the tank. It's awesome! I love it. I want to get another one on the other side. It's quite, and pushes water around the entire half of the tank, from the bottom to the top. The flow stops right about the middle half of the tank.

I had two k3's. I found them to be way to much and causing tons of problems even after I took out one. I sold both and am getting a k2 or maybe a seio

i have 2 k 3's and love them im just a newb though

I have a Koralia #3 running in the back side of my tank, providing nice flow for the back of the reef. I got it for a good price, that's why I bought it. It puts out nice flow, but not blasting.
I also have two Tunze 6025's and they provide the majority of the circulation in my tank...
